A room with a view

This is my view of Lady Decorum's boutique - was taken before the re-fit. Next week I'll take some more...

EDIT:
Poo - me work mates have requested I take the picture down - will take some from the street level next week...

Tea for one

This morning I've seen Lady Decorum fetching refreshments from the the posh tea room two doors up... It comes on little brown tray with tea cup, saucer, yummy biscuits and silver tea pot.

Yay - somebody has just gone into the shop - yesterday Lady Decorum managed to keep a visitor in there for over an hour!!!

The new display

The new window display consists of a small regency dining table and two chairs - the table so twee it will only sit two - the lady and I? On the table is lots of silver candle sticks with tall slender candles. Behind the table is a rustic looking screen and to the the right is a rather large chandelier and mirror.

Its quite fetching and a break from wardrobes or drawers, which were the major theme before the re-fitting... However, by lunchtime the table has been re-arranged and the tall candle sticks have been removed?

Outside there are two French bistro chairs and a new square table with some small white rustic looking empty planters. This display is strange as it serves no purpose other than to stop people from leaning against her window...

Me thinks its time for Mr Brown to pay a visit?

Perfected weather girl

Perfection with each selection,
she displays her affection.
she steps outside
and I catch her reflection.

Lady Decorum,
there is no boredom.
Never a dull day,
your window is gay!

Window licker

One of Lady Decorum's obsessions is cleaning her shop window. If anyone leans against it to get a closer look at her antiques and fine period furniture she'll wait for them to disappear before rushing outside with her Cillit Bang.

Saturday night as I passed by her shop I licked my beer infused tongue over her window. I feel mildly guilty for my behaviour - worse still I'm wondering if she has CCTV?

So far today Lady Decorum has cleaned her window three times...

NEWSFLASH - She's back...

Lady Decorum arrived back at the shop about half hour ago - YAY! She's been admiring the paint work - seriously it has been given a thorough inspection. The exterior of the shop looks no different from last week, however, I'm so happy to see her...

I hope there's a grand re-opening!!!

Long weeeeek!!!

I'm glad its Friday.

A week without Lady Decorum is like a day without your mobile phone - you're lost and you find at the end of the day nobody has called you anyway... The shop is looking like it did a week ago - except without the furniture and fine antiques...

The shop signs are back and all the wood that was ripped down has been replaced with new stuff painted in cream, which was the old colour scheme..? It looks clean which Lady Decorum loves...

The shop will re-open soon - Lady Decorum has a whole shop to arrange and I can't wait...

Blinded!!!

This morning I made a shocking descovery - Lady Decorum has installed blinds in her shop window!!! I'm hoping this is temporary and hopefully once the shop is re-opened the blinds will go.

Would be a shame if her fabulous window dressing was hidden away at night - will she keep her new displays under wraps until they're perfect? That would be most annoying, as I won't be able to watch her fiddling in her window anymore.

A whiff and a sigh

The pungent smell of gloss paint greeted me as I walked up the street today. Lady Decorum has made the tough decision of keeping the same colour scheme - cream - which saves on the expense of new signs.

The decorators caught me looking out my window during tea break. Each time I look - they spot me... They probably think I play up the dirt track...

Almost a week since I last saw my lady now... sigh...

Blue-ish Monday

The shop is closed for business - burly builders are ripping the shop apart in a gentle way as Lady Decorum would like... The shop sign is coming off and paint is being rubbed down. Lady Decorum is no where to be seen?

SHUT DOWN : (

Oh noooo - I read the sign in the window Lady Decorum's shop will be closed for re-furbishment!!! But the good new is - I got her name now...

The Red Sticky

Lady Decorum took out one of her special red SOLD stickers and slapped it on the wardrobe thing in the window today, which means there will be frantic re-arranging to come... YAY!!!

La dame dans le noir

Thats french for The lady in black..! Lady Decorum was late this morning? However, she is at the shop now - cleaning her window and arranging the bistro furniture outside.

She's got her best clobber on today - all in black - sensing a sale? Or is she mourning the passing of another bottle of Cillit Bang?

Week one...

Lady Decorum has had a busy week - she sold some drawers, which meant the window needed re-arranging - again - again and again. There is now a cream glass fronted wardrobe in the window, which means I can't see into the shop. I'm hoping the wardrobe will be sold by Monday.

The appearance of the French bistro furniture is full fathom? I think placing it outside the shop is a plan to stop people walking on her highly polished floor tiles. She hasn't been cleaning the floor so much this week - or I haven't been watching so much.

She's closing shop now - as Lady Decorum leaves she takes one last loving glance at her marvelous shop display - unaware I'm watching her and I have plans...

Find out next week...

Uncle Dave

Oh no!!! Uncle Dave with his dog is outside Lady Decorum's shop leaning against the wall - Everytime I look out my window I'm sure he's looking up at me - or am I imagining this - its OK he's gone...

Invite to lunch?

Lady Decorum has put a french bistro table and chair outside her shop. Maybe I'll get some chips for lunch and dine al fresco, but I'm too shy - perhaps another day...

An (im)perfect angel

Decorum is her way,
you see it in her display.
Re-arrangeing and cleaning,
everything is gleaming.
This is a woman of class,
she has a moon face and a fat arse!

The Lady Decorum

Out of my office window I can see a shop, which sells antiques and fine period furniture - during my working day I watch the lady owner with fascination and awe.

She will clean, polish, rub and scrub her shop window, which she arranges with such care and precision nobody can fault. It will take her a whole day to get the window just perfect and then its time to go home.

She is obsessed with arranging her window display and I'm becomming obsessed with her. From now on I will blog about her and I will call her Lady Decorum...
